Lilburn is a city in Gwinnett County, Georgia, United States. The population was 11,596 at the 2010 census. The city is a northeastern suburb of Atlanta and is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Lilburn was founded in 1890 by Evan Howell and J.C. Howell. The two men purchased land near Five Forks Trickum, which was then part of Dekalb County. They donated a large tract of land for the Lilburn Public School and a park. The city was incorporated in 1909. Lilburn is home to several parks and recreation facilities, including Lilburn City Park, which features a playground, pavilion, walking trail, and basketball courts. Camp Creek Golf Club and Stone Mountain Park are also nearby. The city is served by the Gwinnett County School District.
