Hoschton is a city in Gwinnett and Jackson counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. The population was 1,377 at the 2010 census. Hoschton is located northeast of Atlanta and is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The city is home to the Atlanta Steeplechase, an annual horse race.
Hoschton was founded in 1881 by Colonel James Jackson, who also served as the city’s first mayor. The city was named after his wife, Sarah Hosch. The Hosch House, built in 1885, is the oldest house in Hoschton and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
