More About Conyers Real Estate

Conyers is the only city in Rockdale County, Georgia, United States. It is 24 miles (39 km) east of Atlanta and is part of the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 15,195. The city is the county seat of Rockdale County.

Conyers was established in 1854 as the county seat of Rockdale County. It was named after congressman John Conyers. The community grew rapidly, and by 1884 it had a population of 600. It was incorporated as a city in 1887.

The city is located in the Piedmont region of Georgia, and its terrain is generally hilly. The city is bisected by two creeks, Honey Creek and Flat Shoals Creek.

Conyers is home to Georgia International Horse Park, which hosted equestrian events for the 1996 Summer Olympics. The park is also home to the Rockdale Career Academy, a charter school operated by the Rockdale County Public Schools.

The Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival is held annually in the spring. The festival celebrates the city’s Japanese sister city relationship. The festival features a parade, a 5K race, live entertainment, and a Sakura Matsuri, or Cherry Blossom Festival, which is held in Rockdale County’s Memorial Park.
